IKAN HYU — window stills

IKAN HYU release the first ballad of their upcoming debut album: window stills. The song speaks about life changes and the feeling of leaving the past behind while being confronted with the uncertainties of the future. What began with Anisa’s move to an old town apartment with crooked floors and peeling paint was continued during a jam session and finally resulted in a playful recording, which was finalised with the duos longtime friend Tom Oehler. In window stills, IKAN HYU combine phone recordings with a Kaossilator, mix in the sound of a burning candle and complete it all with YouTube samples of owls. The result is an emotional song between departure and arrival, accompanying the listener in their search for answers during times of uncertainty.
