Malummí — Damaged By Their Silence

With their third album, Damaged By Their Silence, Basel-based trio Malummí opens a powerful new chapter while closing a profound personal circle. This album captures the transformative period following their previous release, “The Universe is Black.”

Vocalist and songwriter Larissa Rapold channels deeply personal experiences from her family, crafting a narrative that moves from raw confrontation—of pain, loss, and societal frustration—toward hard-won reconnection, love, and reconciliation.

Sonically, the band builds on its guitar-driven foundation, but this album also introduces the piano as a central voice for the first time. Rapold's signature vocal intensity remains visceral, yet is now delivered with greater clarity and calm. The album masterfully navigates the space between intimate indie introspection and explosive singer-songwriter energy, traveling through alternative-rock, vintage-tinged indie pop, and a spirited rock & roll pulse.

“Damaged by their Silence” is both an ending and a new beginning, set for release in March 2026. Like life itself, Malummí’s music moves in cycles—evolving, growing, and pausing between anger and tenderness, withdrawal and openness.
