Malummí — Clover & Camelia
With Clover & Camelia, Malummí delve deeper into the fragile, often chaotic act of selfrescue.
The Basel-based alternative pop trio confronts emotional rawness and vulnerability head-on, crafting soundscapes that are both intimate and unsettling. Known for their poetic lyricism that resists easy answers, Malummí continue their new chapter following the release of Key.
Written by Larissa Rapold during a deeply personal healing process, Clover & Camelia captures the turmoil of the inner world—unfiltered, fragile, and intensely human.
Musically, the track moves at a mid-fast pace, slightly indie folk in flavor, mellow in mood. Vintage pianos and straight drums carry a grounded rhythm while road trip–like guitars glide above, evoking motion and quiet resilience. Larissa’s gentle, hopeful voice guides the listener through uncertainty toward light. Building on the sonic palette of their last album "The Universe Is Black", the song blends shimmering textures with intimate, restrained arrangements, creating a spacious yet tense atmosphere that invites deep emotional connection.
Between the first and second verse, something shifts. A quiet realization emerges: even on the edge of emotional collapse, there is a way back. There is softness. There is survival.
What begins in emotional turbulence gradually settles into a clear melodic structure, true to Malummí’s signature blend of atmospheric tension and emotional release. The lyrics remain layered and associative, resisting linear interpretation. This is not about understanding, it is about feeling.
Following in the footsteps of "Blood" and "The Universe Is Black", Clover & Camelia continues Malummí’s exploration of vulnerability, mental health, and transformation. But this time healing is not a reflection, it is an action. It happens in real time, within the song, within the self.
