IKAN HYU — MIMICRY LOVESICK

MIMICRY LOVESICK is the third single of IKAN HYU’s upcoming album. True to their eclectic style, this genre-bending song blends elements of drum’n’bass, pop and electronica – it is dark, defiant and fierce.

Like the majority of tracks on the album, MIMICRY LOVESICK was produced in Vienna with multi-platinum-awarded producer Syrix (Markus Lechleitner). The song is synth-heavy and driven by fast paced drums, with the two verses sung separately – each by one of the band members – creating a split narrative that reflects the album’s recurring theme of duality.

In MIMICRY LOVESICK, IKAN HYU draws parallels between the addictive patterns found in relationships and compulsive behaviors embedded in consumer society: “I'm such a fool, look at how I think I loved you, as if you're just a thing to consume, like I don't really care about you.“
