IKAN HYU — CATCH ME IF YOU CAN

One year after their debut album ❁OASIS❁, IKAN HYU are releasing their new EP CATCH ME IF YOU CAN. While the debut album stands for introspection and emerged from a phase of self-reflection, CATCH ME IF YOU CAN is an energetic outward explosion. 

Five very different songs are collected into one EP, and they are all characterised by the common elements of collaboration and experimentation; none of the songs was created in the same place, none was produced with the same team. Moreover, IKAN HYU are also celebrating a premiere: towers, created at the request of the Swiss TV-series «Mindblow», is the first ever single that the duo have produced themselves.

Like a fish in water: IKAN HYU feel most at home on stage and love to let off steam. CATCH ME IF YOU CAN manages to do complete justice to these iconic IKAN-performances. The duo have succeeded in transferring this high energy to their songs and show us a lot of attitude, virtuosity and imagination with this EP.

In terms of sound, CATCH ME IF YOU CAN is reminiscent of IKAN HYU's first EP ZEBRA (2018) – loud, cheeky and unrestrained – and the duo see this as both a forward evolution and a return to their roots. Compared to ❁OASIS❁, this EP is more extroverted and once again contains more rap elements, celebrating the blending of different genres, which is further intensified by the various collaborations.

One thing is certain: with CATCH ME IF YOU CAN, IKAN HYU remain impossible to pigeon-hole. The duo celebrates their individuality, convinces with a lot of energy and sweeps the listener along in a wild chase after the biggest catch!
