Andrina Bollinger — Mind Needs Body

Swiss avant-pop artist Andrina Bollinger announces the release of "Mind Needs Body", a bewitching, elemental, groove-driven meditation on healing and transformation. As the third release from her forthcoming album “Island of Way Back”, the song marks Act 3 of a four-part journey through “Disconnection”, “Listening inward”, “Surrender,” and “Return”.

Born from a period of forced stillness, "Mind Needs Body" captures the intimacy of sitting with exhaustion and learning to listen. "Before this period, I lived primarily in my head, disconnected from my body and often ignoring its signals of distress," Bollinger explains. "The hook “Mind Needs Body” became both a personal anthem and a quiet revolution: a reminder that healing begins with reconnecting to the body."

Minimal yet fierce, "Mind Needs Body" builds like a polyrhythmic, percussive vortex gathering momentum – pulling the listener into its gravitational center. Syncopated guitar and bass interlock with textured drums in earthy, warm pulses while Bollinger's mantra-like vocals weave through the fabric of sound, soothing and confident. It all feels very hands on, very physical. It’s the soundtrack to the senses remembering their own wisdom, and the mind finally catching up.

The song was finalised with Mercury Prize winning co-producer Mike Lindsay (Tunng, Jon Hopkins, Laura Marling) and Bollinger's band in Margate, UK, featuring Jules Martinet on guitar and bass, Arthur Hnatek on drums, synth and percussion, and Bollinger herself on vocals and piano.

At a time when digital overwhelm has become the norm, "Mind Needs Body" arrives as a necessary corrective – a call to step out of the maelstrom of overstimulation and back into the grounded intelligence of physical presence.
