Pina Palau — Headed Home

If you’ve had a chance to listen to Pina Palau’s album, Illusion, then you already know that this lady possesses a rare and precious gift. Listening to her music feels like you’re stepping into a dream, and this dream lingers long after the last sound fades out. It just hangs there, like mist, refracting light in such a way that it makes everything around you appear a pinch sublime.

Just three months after releasing her debut, Pina is back with a new single: a wistful ballad titled Headed Home. Technically, it’s a love song, albeit a hesitant one, with a strong hint of something azure about it. In her own words: “this piece is like an amuse bouche: a bridge between what you already know from me and a hint of things to come.” She continues, “I love the drums and how they drive the song, like a steamboat. The guitar and the organ are the water running through the wheel, shimmering in the sun. Everything flows into each other, and gets braided together into this sensual, yet introspective space.”
