Malummí
Malummí are a Basel-based indie rock trio led by a Black frontwoman, crafting songs that move between fragile intimacy and explosive release. Rooted in voice-driven songwriting and grunge-tinged dynamics, their sound is raw, restless, and emotionally direct.
With their 2023 debut album "The Universe Is Black" (Irascible Records), Malummí established a distinct voice in Swiss alternative music. The record was featured on KEXP and The Line of Best Fit, and named Album of the Year by IndieSuisse, marking them as one of the most compelling new voices in the scene.
In March 2026, the band returned with their third album "Damaged By Their Silence" (Mouthwatering Records), a more direct and unflinching evolution of their sound. The release was named Album of the Week on SRF 3 and earned Song of the Year at the Goldener Lachs in Zürich, further cementing their reputation for emotionally charged, dynamic songwriting.
Known for intense and disarming live performances, Malummí continue to expand their presence across Europe through radio sessions, touring, and festival appearances, building a growing audience drawn to their contrast of fragility and force.
