Arthur Hnatek — Chocolate Mushroom

New Arthur Hnatek single, Chocolate Mushroom, informed by the aftermath of a psychedelic night out in London

Clearly the most glitch-influenced track on the album, Chocolate Mushroom is constructed entirely from acoustic drum recordings of Hnatek's unique drumming style. The song was first composed for a promotional video for a drumstick company that Arthur was fronting but reworked and distorted to an unrecognizable point. It's one of many tracks in which Hnatek clearly pays tribute to his early heroes on the UK scene, such as Aphex Twin or Squarepusher.

The single's dark, cinematic and relentless energy paints a poetic and nostalgic picture of the city that all ravers love, while showcasing thumping and syncopated percussion. Once again the Swiss producer reveals his deep love for subtle sound design and breakbeats.

Chocolate Mushroom is the fourth and last single from Hnatek's upcoming album “Adrift” due for release on November 1st.
